Series Description

WKRP In Cincinnati was a 30 minute one-act serial on CBS about a radio station that was in financial trouble and the station managing director idea he knew how to plough things around. The new DJs that he brought in were non quite what the station owner was used to dealing with withal! With names like Johnny Fever and Venus Flytrap ... well, yous get the idea. The station's news reporter kept trying to do Hog Reports instead of the news that the audition wanted to hear. Even the station manager was a chip "flaky" every bit he had to get his mother's permission for everything or risk incurring her wrath! Put it all together and yous get a total "madhouse" and a pretty enjoyable viewing experience.

WKRP In Cincinnati Trivia

WKRP in Cincinnati was suppossedly at 1530 on the AM dial and the station's mascot was a Carp (fish).

In that location was no real radio station in Cincinnati with the telephone call letters WKRP but, afterward the show began, a station in Georgia applied for those letters and got them. The producers of the TV show wanted to sue but the FCC said that only a legitimate radio station tin own the rights to call messages. Past the way, there was a "WKRC" in Cincinnati before the testify started.

Several times during the evidence a character would talk about "Mayor Springer." Today, nosotros know his as "Jerry Springer" the talk-prove host. Yes, he was actually the mayor of Cincinnati at that time!
